Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, a city in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the tax policy of the British government and the East India Company that controlled all the tea imported into the colonies. The Boston Tea Party happened because the British put a bunch of taxes on items imported into America.
It happened on December 16th, 1773 and it started and ended on the same day. A bunch of Colonists got together and dumped crates of British Tea over the side of ships. They did this in protest to the British taxing all of their imported goods.
